How Do You Get Tokens in Figma?

If you’re a designer, there’s a good chance you’re using Figma to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for your projects. And if you’re using Figma, you may be wondering how to get tokens.

Tokens are basically like variables in code. They allow you to change colors, fonts, spacing, and other design attributes in one place and have those changes propagate throughout your design.

So how do you get tokens in Figma? Well, there are a few different ways.

First, you can create them yourself using the “Create new token” button in the left sidebar. Second, you can import them from another file using the “Import” button in the left sidebar. Finally, you can download them from the Figma Community.

PRO TIP: Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool – it is not a cryptocurrency. There is no such thing as a “token” in Figma. If someone is trying to sell you something called a “Figma token”, they are probably trying to scam you.

Once you have your tokens, you can start using them in your designs. To do so, simply select the element you want to change and then click on the “Edit Style” button in the right sidebar.

From there, you’ll see a list of all the available tokens. Simply click on the token you want to use and it will be applied to your element.
