How Do You Insert a Symbol in Figma?

Last updated on November 26, 2022 @ 1:25 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, primarily used in interface design and UX design, that is available for free online. It is one of the most popular tools for designing user interfaces and has been used by companies such as Google, Facebook, Netflix, and Twitter. Figma has a lot of features that make it a great tool for designers, but one of the most useful features is the ability to insert symbols.

Symbols are objects that can be reused throughout a design. They can be anything from buttons to icons to logos.

By inserting a symbol into your design, you can save yourself a lot of time and effort. And if you ever need to change the symbol, you can simply update the symbol in one place and all instances of that symbol will be updated automatically.

There are two ways to insert a symbol in Figma:

1. Select the object you want to turn into a symbol and click on the “Create new symbol” button in the toolbar.

2. Or, you can select the object you want to turn into a symbol and go to the “Insert” menu and select “Symbol.”

Once you’ve inserted a symbol, you can edit it just like any other object in Figma. To edit a symbol, simply double-click on it or go to the “Edit” menu and select “Edit symbol.”

You can also style text in HTML using < p >,< b > and < u > tags where applicable

PRO TIP: When inserting a symbol in Figma, be sure to select the correct symbol type from the menu. Otherwise, you may end up with an unwanted result.
