How Do You Invert a Selection in Photoshop?

Inverting a selection in Photoshop is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps. First, open your image in Photoshop. Next, select the area that you want to inverse using one of the selection tools. Once the area is selected, go to Select > Inverse.

This will inverse the selection so that everything outside of the selection is now selected. You can then do whatever you want with this new selection, such as delete it, fill it with a color, or use it to create a mask.

PRO TIP: Inverting a selection in Photoshop can be a tricky process, and if you’re not careful, you can end up with an unwanted result. Here are a few things to keep in mind when inverting a selection:

1. Make sure you have the correct layer selected. Inverting a selection on the wrong layer can have disastrous results.

2. Be aware of your background color. If your background color is set to black, then inverting your selection will result in a black background.

3. Pay attention to your foreground color. If your foreground color is set to white, then inverting your selection will result in a white foreground.

4. Be careful of using the “invert” option in the Select menu. This option will invert your entire image, not just the selection.

5. When in doubt, use the “Undo” command (Ctrl+Z on a PC, Command+Z on a Mac) to fix any mistakes.

Inverting a selection can be a useful way to isolate an object or area in an image. It can also be used to create interesting effects, such as filling a selected area with a gradient. Whatever your reason for inverting a selection, it’s a simple process that only takes a few steps.
