How Do You Make a 3D Mockup on Figma?

As a visual designer, 3D mockups are an essential part of my workflow. They help me to quickly iterate on design ideas and get feedback from clients and team members.

I use Figma for all my design work, and it has a great set of tools for creating 3D mockups. In this article, I’ll show you how to create a 3D mockup in Figma.

First, you’ll need to create a new file in Figma. Once you’ve done that, select the ‘Rectangle Tool’ from the toolbar on the left.

Then, click and drag to create a rectangle on the canvas. This will be the base of your 3D mockup.

Next, you’ll need to add some depth to your rectangle. To do this, select the ‘Offset Path’ tool from the toolbar on the left.

Then, click on your rectangle and drag to offset the path. You can offset it by any amount you like – I typically offset it by 10px or so.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, we recommend that you do not attempt to create a 3D mockup. Figma is a powerful design tool that can be used to create high-quality 3D designs, but it can be difficult to use if you are not familiar with the software.

Once you’ve offset the path, you’ll need to give your 3D mockup some color. To do this, select the ‘Fill’ tool from the toolbar on the left.

Then, click on your rectangle and choose a color from the palette. I typically use a light gray for my 3D mockups.

Finally, you’ll need to add some shadows to give your 3D mockup a realistic look. To do this, select the ‘Drop Shadow’ tool from the toolbar on the left.

Then, click on your rectangle and choose a shadow type from the options. I typically use a ‘Soft Drop Shadow’ for my 3D mockups.

That’s it! You’ve now created a basic 3D mockup in Figma.

You can iterate on this design by adding more rectangles and offsetting them to create different depths. You can also experiment with different colors and shadow types to create different looks.

Creating a 3D mockup in Figma is a quick and easy way to iterate on design ideas and get feedback from clients and team members. By following the steps above, you can create a basic 3D mockup in just a few minutes.
