How do you make a geometric pattern in Illustrator?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 6:51 pm

In Illustrator, you can create geometric patterns by using the Pathfinder tool. The Pathfinder tool lets you move objects around within a selected document and then create a pattern by aligning the objects according to specific criteria.

To create a geometric pattern in Illustrator, follow these steps:

1. Choose the Pathfinder tool from the Tools panel.

2. Activate the Rectangular Marquee tool (M) and make a small selection around the object you want to pattern.

3. Drag the objects within the selection around to create the desired pattern.

4. Click and drag the corners of the rectangular marquee to resize the selection.

5. Release the mouse button when you are happy with the pattern.

6. Choose File > Save As to save the pattern file.

7. Close the document.
