How Do You Make a Parallax in Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:04 am

Squarespace is an online platform that allows users to create websites without having to write code. One of the features that Squarespace offers is the ability to create a parallax effect on your website.

A parallax is an optical illusion where objects appear to move at different speeds as you scroll down the page.

The parallax effect can be created by adding a background image to a section and then setting the background image to scroll at a different speed than the rest of the page. You can control how fast the background image scrolls by adding a CSS class to the section.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that the ‘How Do You Make a Parallax in Squarespace?’ article contains instructions on how to make a parallax in Squarespace, which can be disruptive to the normal functioning of your website. Use these instructions at your own risk.

To create a parallax in Squarespace, follow these steps:

  1. Add a background image to a section
  2. Open the section settings and click on the Advanced tab
  3. In the CSS Class field, enter “parallax”
  4. Save your changes and preview your website to see the parallax in action.

The parallax effect can add some visual interest to your website and make it stand out from other websites that are not using this effect. If you want to create a parallax in Squarespace, follow the steps outlined above.
