Last updated on January 24, 2023 @ 1:03 pm

A pixel explosion effect is a great way to add some energy and excitement to your photos. Here’s how to create one in Photoshop:

1. Start by creating a new layer in your Photoshop document. Then, use the Brush tool to paint a black dot in the center of the layer.

2. Next, go to Filter > Pixelate > Mezzotint and apply the following settings:

  • Type: Fine
  • Screen Frequency: 30
  • Angle: 45

3. Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and apply a Radius of 2 pixels.

4. Finally, go to Image > Adjustments > Invert to reverse the colors on your layer.

There you have it! A fun and easy pixel explosion effect that you can use to add some pizzazz to your photos.

PRO TIP: Create a pixel explosion effect in Photoshop by first creating a new layer, then using the Brush tool to paint a black dot in the center of the layer. Next, apply the Pixelate > Mezzotint filter (Type: Fine, Screen Frequency: 30, Angle: 45) and the Blur > Gaussian Blur filter (Radius: 2 pixels). Finally, use the Image > Adjustments > Invert command to reverse the colors on your layer for a dynamic, explosive effect.”
