If you’re looking to add a touch of realism to your digital artwork, then you’ll need to know how to create a stone texture in Photoshop. This can be achieved by following a few simple steps..

1. Firstly, open up Photoshop and create a new document. Then, using the ‘Paint Bucket Tool’, fill your background with a light grey color.

2. Next, we need to add some noise to our image. Go to ‘Filter > Noise > Add Noise’ and add around 50% noise to your image.

3. Now we need to apply a Gaussian Blur to our noise layer. Go to ‘Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur’ and apply a radius of 2 pixels.

4. We’re now going to create our stone texture.

Go to ‘Filter > Texture > Texturizer’ and apply the following settings:

  • Texture: Sandstone
  • Scaling: 100%
  • Relief: 10

5. And that’s it! You should now have a realistic looking stone texture that you can use in your digital artwork.
