How Do You Make a Watercolor Splash in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 12:15 am

Watercolor splashes are a beautiful way to add a touch of color to your photos. With Photoshop, you can easily create your own watercolor splashes to use in your artwork. Here’s how:

1. Start by opening the image you want to add the splash to in Photoshop. Create a new layer by clicking on the “Create a new layer” icon at the bottom of the Layers panel.

2. Next, use the Brush tool to paint a watercolor splash on the new layer. To do this, load a watercolor brush into Photoshop (you can find plenty of free brushes online) and then set your brush size and opacity.

Once you have your brush settings configured, simply click and drag to paint on the image. Experiment with different brush sizes, opacity levels, and colors until you create a splash that you like.

3. When you’re happy with your splash, go to Edit > Transform > Warp and use the Warp tool to distort the shape of the splash. This will help it blend in with the photo better.

4. Finally, change the layer blend mode to “Screen” and lower the opacity until the splash looks natural. That’s it! You’ve successfully created a watercolor splash in Photoshop.

Conclusion:

Watercolor splashes are a great way to add some color and interest to your photos. With Photoshop, they’re easy to create.

Simply open your image, create a new layer, paint on the splash using a watercolor brush, distort it with the Warp tool, and then change the layer blend mode to “Screen.” Lowering the opacity will help it blend in with the photo better.
