There’s no doubt that animations can add a lot of visual interest and engagement to your Squarespace website. But if you’re new to web design, you might be wondering how to create animations on Squarespace.

The good news is that Squarespace makes it easy to add animations to your site using the built-in Animation Editor. In this article, we’ll show you how to use the Animation Editor to create animations on Squarespace.

To get started, log in to your Squarespace account and go to the page where you want to add an animation. Then, click on the “Edit” button in the top-right corner of the page and select “Animation” from the drop-down menu.

This will open the Animation Editor, which allows you to add and customize animations for your Squarespace website. To add an animation, simply click on the “Add Animation” button and select the element that you want to animate.

For example, let’s say you want to animate a heading element. First, click on the “Add Animation” button and then click on the heading element that you want to animate.

Next, select the type of animation that you want to use from the “Animation Type” drop-down menu. There are four different animation types to choose from:

PRO TIP: Please be advised that the article “How Do You Make Animations on Squarespace?” may contain outdated or inaccurate information.

Fade: This type of animation fades in or out an element over a specified period of time.

Slide: This type of animation slides an element horizontally or vertically over a specified period of time.

Scale: This type of animation scales up or down an element over a specified period of time.

Rotate: This type of animation rotates an element around a specified point over a specified period of time.

Once you’ve selected an animation type, you can then customize it further by adjusting the settings in the “Animation Settings” panel. For example, you can change the duration of the animation, specify when it should start, and choose whether it should repeat indefinitely.

When you’re happy with your animation, click on the “Save” button in the top-right corner of the page and then preview your site to see your new animation in action!
