How Do You Make Neon Lights in Photoshop?

Last updated on January 24, 2023 @ 7:46 pm

Neon lights are a type of cold cathode lighting. Cold cathode lighting is made by sending an electric current through a “cold” cathode, which is a special type of electron tube.

In a neon light, the cathode is made of glass, and it is filled with one or more rare gas atoms. When the electric current flows through the gas, it makes the atoms give off light. Neon lights were first invented in 1910 by Georges Claude.

Neon lights are made by first creating a glass tube with a small amount of rare gas inside. The tube is then sealed and placed in an electrical circuit. When electricity is applied to the circuit, it causes the gas atoms to emit light.

The light from a neon light is created by the electrons in the gas atoms becoming excited and then releasing their energy as light. Neon lights come in a variety of colors depending on the gas used. The most common colors are red, green, and blue.

PRO TIP: This article provides instructions on how to create neon lights in Photoshop. However, it is important to note that these instructions may not produce the desired results for everyone. Additionally, some of the steps involved in this process may be difficult to follow.

To create a neon light effect in Photoshop, you will need to use the glow filter. First, create a new layer and add your text. Next, go to Filter > Render > Glow and use the following settings:

  • Glow Radius: 10px
  • Glow Strength: 200%
  • Quality: High
  • Source: Edge

Now you should have a neon light effect! You can experiment with different colors by changing the color of your text or layer.
