When it comes to creating a metallic gold look in Photoshop, there are a few different ways that you can go about it. You can use the “Glow” filter, the “Bevel and Emboss” layer style, or even create your own custom gold gradient. Let’s take a closer look at each of these methods so you can decide which one is right for your project.
Using the Glow Filter
The Glow filter is a quick and easy way to add a metallic gold effect to your text or other elements in your image. To use the Glow filter, simply select the element you want to apply the effect to and then go to Filter > Render > Glow.
In the Glow dialog box, set the Glow Radius to around 50 pixels and then increase the Brightness until you’re happy with the results. You can also play around with the other settings in the dialog box, such as changing the Glow Type from “Soft Edge” to “Precise Edge”.
Bevel and Emboss Layer Style
Another way to create a metallic gold effect is to use the Bevel and Emboss layer style. This method gives you more control over the final look of your text or other elements.
To use this method, simply select the element you want to apply the effect to and then go to Layer > Layer Style > Bevel and Emboss. In the Bevel and Emboss dialog box, set the Style to “Inner Bevel” and then experiment with the other settings until you’re happy with the results. You can also add a bit of noise to your element by checking the Add Noise checkbox.
Creating a Custom Gold Gradient
If you want even more control over how your metallic gold looks, you can create your own custom gradient. To do this, go to Edit > Define Gradient. In the Gradient Editor dialog box, click on the black color swatch and change it to a dark gold color. Then click on the white color swatch and change it to a light gold color.
Finally, click on OK to close the dialog box. Now when you go back to your image, you’ll be able to apply this custom gradient by selecting it from the Gradient Tool. Simply drag the gradient across your element in the direction you want it to go.
All three of these methods will give you different results, so experiment with each one until you find the perfect look for your project. Remember that you can always adjust your settings until you get exactly what you want.
