That’s why it’s important to know a few basic techniques before you start trying to manipulate hair in Photoshop.
One of the most basic techniques is to use the Clone Stamp tool. This tool allows you to copy pixels from one area of an image and paste them into another area.
This is helpful when you’re trying to cover up bald spots or add volume to thin hair. Simply select an area of hair that you want to copy, and then click and drag the Clone Stamp tool over the area you want to cover up. The clone stamp will take on the color and texture of the hair you selected, making it much easier to cover up problem areas.
Another useful tool for manipulating hair is the Brush tool. With the Brush tool, you can paint over areas of hair to change their color or texture. This is helpful if you want to add highlights or lowlights, or even change the color of someone’s hair altogether.
Simply select the Brush tool, and then choose a color from the Swatches palette. Then, click and drag over the areas of hair you want to change. The brush will deposit the color you selected, making it easy to add highlights or change colors.
The last tool we’ll mention is the Eraser tool. The Eraser tool can be used to remove unwanted hair from an image.
This is helpful if someone has a stray hair that you want to get rid of, or if you want to clean up an area around someone’s head. Simply select the Eraser tool, and then click and drag over the areas of hair you want to remove. The eraser will remove any pixels it comes in contact with, making it easy to clean up an image.
