How Do You Organize a Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:52 pm

There’s no one “right” way to organize your Figma file. However, there are some general guidelines that can help you keep your project organized and easy to navigate.

Here are a few tips for organizing your Figma file:

1. Create a separate page for each major section of your project.

For example, if you’re designing a website, you might have pages for the home page, About us page, Contact us page, etc. This will help keep your project organized and make it easier to find the assets you need.

PRO TIP: When organizing a Figma, be sure to keep the following in mind:

-Figma can be very overwhelming, so take your time and organize as you go.
-There is no one “right” way to organize a Figma, so do what works best for you.
-Be sure to keep your project structure organized and easy to navigate.
-If you have team members, be sure to communicate with them about your organization scheme.

2. Within each page, create folders to group together similar assets.

For example, on your home page you might have a folder for the header, another for the main content, and another for the footer. This will again help keep things organized and make it easier to find the assets you need.

3. Use tags to label your assets.

Tagging your assets with keywords will make it easier to find them later on. For example, if you have an image of a cat, you might tag it with “cat”, “animal”, “pet”, etc. This way, if you’re ever looking for an image of an animal, you can easily find the cat image by searching for the tag “animal”.

Organizing your Figma file doesn’t have to be complicated. By following these simple tips, you can keep your project organized and easy to navigate.
