There are a few ways to remove the background of an image in Photoshop. One way is to use the Quick Selection Tool. With the Quick Selection Tool active, click and drag over the area of the image you want to keep. As you drag over the image, Photoshop will automatically select the area you’re dragging over.
If it selects too much or too little, you can adjust the selection by clicking the Add to Selection or Subtract from Selection buttons in the options bar. Once you have a selection you’re happy with, go to Select > Inverse to inverse the selection so that everything but the area you selected is now selected. Then, press delete on your keyboard to remove the selected area.
Another way to remove the background of an image is to use the Pen Tool. The Pen Tool is found in the same toolbar as the Quick Selection Tool and it looks like a pen tip. With the Pen Tool selected, click around the edge of the area you want to keep to create anchor points. As you click around the edge, Photoshop will create a path between anchor points.
You can adjust anchor points by clicking and dragging them or by using the Convert Point Tool, which is found in the options bar when you have the Pen Tool active. Once you have a path you’re happy with, go to Select > Inverse to inverse the selection so that everything but the area you selected is now selected. Then, press delete on your keyboard to remove
the selected area.
You can also remove backgrounds using layer masks. To do this, first make sure your foreground and background colors are set correctly by pressing D on your keyboard. Then, create a new layer mask by going to Layer > Layer Mask > Reveal All.
Next, use a black brush to paint over the area of the image you want to remove. As you paint over the image with a black brush, it will reveal more of the background layer beneath it. You can use a white brush to paint over areas you’ve accidentally removed if needed.
There are many ways to remove backgrounds in Photoshop and which one you use will depend on what type of image you’re working with and what kind of result you’re trying to achieve.
