In Figma, the pen tool is used to create paths, shapes, and selections. It can be used to create simple paths or complex selections. The following are some tips for using the pen tool:

1. To start drawing a path with the pen tool, click and hold on the path tool icon in the toolbar, and then drag the cursor to where you want the path to start.

The cursor will change to a pencil icon when it is over a path.

2. To add a curve to a path, drag the cursor along the path and release it when you have reached the desired point.

The curve will be drawn automatically.

3. To create a selection with the pen tool, first click and hold on the path tool icon in the toolbar, and then drag the cursor over the area you want to select.

The cursor will change to a crosshair icon when it is over a path or selection.

4. To modify the selection size, drag the mouse cursor over the selection border.

The cursor will change to a magnifying glass icon when it is over a selection. To expand or collapse the selection, drag the selection border.

PRO TIP: The pen tool in Figma can be used to create vector shapes and paths. However, if not used correctly, it can result in incorrect or jagged lines. When using the pen tool, be sure to zoom in on your work area and take your time to create clean, precise lines.

5. To delete a path or selection with the pen tool, drag the cursor over the path or selection, and then click and release the mouse button.

6. To change the width or height of a path or selection, drag the cursor over the path or selection, and then click and release the mouse button.

7. To change the color of a path or selection, click and hold on the path or selection, and then drag the cursor over the desired color.

The cursor will change to a color selector when it is over a color. To change the color of the entire path or selection, click and release the mouse button.

8. To smooth the edges of a path or selection, click and hold on the path or selection, and then drag the cursor over the desired smooth edge.

The cursor will change to a smooth edge icon when it is over a smooth edge. To smooth the entire path or selection, click and release the mouse button.

9. To copy a path or selection, click and hold on the path or selection, and then click and release the mouse button.

The path or selection will be copied to the clipboard.

10. To paste a path or selection from the clipboard, click and hold on the path or selection, and then click and release the mouse button.

The path or selection will be pasted into the current document.
