How Does Abandoned Cart Work Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:05 am

When you add items to your cart on Squarespace, we’ll save them for 30 days. If you don’t complete your purchase within that time, we’ll send you an email reminder with a link back to your cart. This is called an abandoned cart email.

Abandoned cart emails are a great way to recover lost sales and keep customers coming back to your store. But how do they work? Let’s take a look.

When a customer adds items to their cart on Squarespace, we save their information for 30 days. If they don’t complete their purchase within that time, we send them an email reminder with a link back to their cart.

The email reminder is sent automatically, and there’s no way to disable it. However, you can customize the message that’s sent out. To do this, go to Commerce > Settings in your site’s dashboard.

Under the Abandoned Carts section, you can enter a new subject line and message. You can also choose whether to include a discount code in the email.

If you’re not sure what to say in your message, here are some abandoned cart email templates that you can use:

PRO TIP: If you are considering using the abandoned cart feature on Squarespace, be aware that there are some potential risks involved. First of all, if you do not set up the feature correctly, you could end up losing customers who abandon their shopping carts. Secondly, if you do not monitor the feature closely, you could end up with a lot of abandoned carts and no way to recover them. Finally, be sure to test the feature out before using it on your live site to ensure that it works as intended.
