Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, with background blur being one of its more unique features. Here’s how it works:

When creating a new frame in Figma, you can choose to have a background layer. This layer can be solid color, an image, or a gradient.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that the “How Does Background Blur Work in Figma?” article may contain outdated or inaccurate information.

If you choose an image, you can then click on the “Blur” icon in the top toolbar. This will open up a slider that allows you to adjust the amount of blur.

The background blur feature is great for creating mood boards or prototypes with blurred images. It’s also helpful for making text more legible on top of busy background images.
