How Does Invoicing Work on UpWork?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 9:54 pm

Invoicing on UpWork is a simple process that allows you to get paid for the work you’ve completed. Once you’ve completed a project, the client will be able to see an “invoice” button on the project page. By clicking this button, they can fill out an invoice with the amount they owe you and any relevant details about the project.

PRO TIP: Invoicing on Upwork is a bit different than other freelancing platforms. When you complete a milestone or project, you’ll need to submit an invoice to the client for payment. The client will then have 14 days to pay the invoice. If the client doesn’t pay within that time frame, Upwork will automatically deduct the funds from their account and pay you.

Once the client submits the invoice, it will be sent to you for approval. You can then review the invoice and either accept or request a revision. If everything looks good, you can simply click “approve” and the funds will be released to you within a few days.

UpWork makes it easy to get paid for the work you do, and with just a few clicks, you can have your invoices sent and approved in no time. So why wait? Get started today and start getting paid for the great work you do!
