How Does Shipping Classes Work WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:47 am

There are many different types of shipping methods available to eCommerce businesses. Shipping classes allow you to group products together that have similar shipping characteristics.

This can be helpful if you have a lot of products with different shipping needs. For example, you could have a shipping class for small items, another for large items, and another for fragile items.

When you create a shipping class, you can assign a name and description to it. You can also specify the dimensions, weight, and other shipping settings for products in that class.

These settings will override the global shipping settings for your WooCommerce store.

To create a shipping class, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping. Then, click on the link for Shipping Classes.

On the Shipping Classes page, you will see a list of all the shipping classes that have been created for your store. To add a new shipping class, click on the Add Shipping Class button.

Enter a name and description for your new shipping class. Then, specify the dimensions, weight, and other shipping settings for products in that class. Once you are finished, click on the Save Changes button.

Now that you have created a shipping class, you need to assign products to it. To do this, go to the product page for the product that you want to add to the shipping class. Scroll down to the Shipping section and select the shipping class from the drop-down menu.

Repeat this process for all products that you want to add to the shipping class. Once you have finished, all products in that class will have the same shipping settings.
