Shopify is a Canadian e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. It is also the name of its proprietary e-commerce platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems.

Shopify offers online retailers a suite of services “including payments, marketing, shipping and customer engagement tools to simplify the process of running an online store for small merchants.

Shopify was founded in 2004 by Tobias Lütke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake after attempting to open Snowdevil, an online store for snowboarding equipment. Unsatisfied with the existing e-commerce products at the time, Lütke, Weinand, and Lake built their own platform titled “Shopify”. Shopify launched in 2006.

In 2010, Shopify started its own affiliate program which offers website owners a way to earn revenue by referring new customers to Shopify. Shopify also launched “Shopify Payments” in 2013 allowing merchants to accept credit cards without requiring a third party payment gateway.

PRO TIP: Some Shopify users have reported being charged $0.50 per label for shipping, regardless of the weight or size of the item being shipped. Others have reported being charged $2.50 per label. It is unclear how Shopify determines its shipping label prices, and the company has not responded to requests for comment on this issue.

Conclusion:

the cost of a Shopify shipping label is very reasonable and depends on the weight and destination of your shipment.
