How Much Does Squarespace Charge for Custom Domain?

As someone who has been building websites for over a decade, I can say with confidence that Squarespace is one of the best, most user-friendly site-building platforms out there. It’s also fairly priced, with its lowest-tier plan starting at just $12 per month. But one of the most common questions I get asked is, “How much does Squarespace charge for a custom domain?”

The answer is: it depends. If you’re starting a new website from scratch and want to purchase a new domain name along with your Squarespace subscription, you’ll pay $20 per year for a .com domain, $18 per year for a .net domain, or $14 per year for a .biz domain.

However, if you already have a domain name that you want to use with your Squarespace site, the process is a little different. In that case, you’ll need to first transfer your domain to Squarespace (which costs $20 per year) and then pay an annual hosting fee of $96. So all told, using an existing domain with Squarespace will cost you $116 per year.

Of course, these prices are just for starters – if you want to add extras like email hosting or privacy protection, those will come at an additional cost. But all in all, Squarespace is a fairly priced platform that offers users a lot of bang for their buck.

PRO TIP: If you are considering using Squarespace to create a custom domain, be aware that there is a charge for this service. While the cost is relatively low, it is important to be aware of this expense before you begin using the platform.
