How to create a DKIM for your GoDaddy domains?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 4:21 pm

DKIM is the email authentication system that helps to identify and verify the authenticity of email messages. It is used by many large email providers, including GoDaddy, to help protect the integrity of email messages.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) and how to set it up, please do not attempt to follow the instructions in this article. Incorrectly configuring DKIM can result in email delivery issues for your domain. If you are not comfortable working with DNS records, we recommend that you contact your DNS hosting provider or a qualified IT professional for assistance.

To create DKIM signatures for your GoDaddy domains, you first need to create a DKIM account. Once you have created your account, you will need to set up DKIM settings for your domains. To do this, open the Domain Manager and select the Domains tab. Under the Email Security heading, click the Add a Domain button. In the Add Domain dialog box, type in the domain name or the URL for the domain, and then click the Add button. In the DKIM Settings dialog box, click the DKIM tab. Under the Email Signature heading, click the Enable DKIM button. In the Enable DKIM dialog box, type in a valid DKIM domain name or the IP address of the DKIM signer. Click the OK button. Next, you need to create DKIM signature records. To do this, open the DKIM Settings dialog box and click the Records tab. Under the Email Signature heading, click the Add Record button. In the Add Email Signature Record dialog box, type in the DKIM signature record information. For example, you might type the domain name or the IP address of the DKIM signer.

Click the OK button. Finally, you need to verify your DKIM signatures. To do this, open the DKIM Settings dialog box and click the Verify tab. Under the Email Signature heading, click the Verify button. In the Verify Email Signature dialog box, you will need to enter the DKIM signature record information that you previously created. If the verification results are successful, the DKIM signature record will be marked as verified. If the verification results are not successful, you will need to correct the DKIM signature record information and then try the verification again. Finally, you can add a DKIM signature record to your domain by clicking the Add Record button under the Email Signature heading in the Domain Manager.
