How to Set Up PayPal Standard in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:47 am

Setting up PayPal Standard in WooCommerce is a fairly straightforward process. You’ll need to create a PayPal account and then link it to your WooCommerce store.

Once you’ve done that, you can start accepting payments via PayPal.

To get started, login to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the WooCommerce > Settings page. From there, click on the Checkout tab and then click on the PayPal button. You’ll be taken to the PayPal settings page where you can enter your PayPal email address.

Once you’ve entered your PayPal email address, you’ll need to select a few settings. First, you’ll need to choose whether or not you want to enable IPN (Instant Payment Notification).

IPN is a feature of PayPal that allows WooCommerce to be notified whenever a payment is made. This is useful for keeping track of orders, but it’s not required.

Next, you’ll need to choose a currency. By default, WooCommerce will use the currency of your WordPress site. However, if you want to use a different currency for PayPal payments, you can select it here.

Finally, you’ll need to choose a return URL. This is the URL that customers will be taken to after they complete their payment on PayPal. You can leave this blank and WooCommerce will automatically generate a return URL for you.

Once you’ve finished configuring your settings, click on the Save Changes button and you’re done! Your WooCommerce store is now setup to accept payments via PayPal.

Conclusion

Now that you know how to set up PayPal Standard in WooCommerce, you can start accepting payments via PayPal. If you have any questions about this process, feel free to leave a comment below.
