But all of this growth comes with a cost. Figma is a free-to-use tool, and while that’s great for individual designers and small teams who are just getting started, it’s not sustainable in the long run. The company has to make money somehow, and eventually that means Figma will have to start charging for its service.

In an interview with Wired, Figma CEO Dylan Field said that the company is “thinking about” a paid subscription model.
