Is Joomla WYSIWYG?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 7:40 am

Yes, Joomla is WYSIWYG. This stands for What You See Is What You Get.

This means that when you view a document or page in Joomla, you will see the same content that the author created. This is different from some other content management systems (CMS), which allow users to create and edit content but may display the final version differently on different devices or browsers.

PRO TIP: Joomla is not a WYSIWYG editor. You will need to know HTML and CSS to be able to properly edit your Joomla site.

Some people may find this feature less user-friendly, as they have to remember to view the document in a specific way in order to see the content correctly. Other people may find this feature more user-friendly, as it eliminates the need to guess how the content will look on their device.

Either way, WYSIWYG is a feature that is found in many content management systems and is a welcomed addition.
