Is There a Color Dropper in Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 1:10 pm

As someone who frequently uses Canva for design work, you may have noticed that there is no color dropper tool included in the software. While this may be disappointing to some, it’s actually not a big deal. Here’s why:

For one, you can always take a screenshot of your design and use a color picker tool like the one in Photoshop to select the exact color you want. Or, if you’re working with a limited color palette, you can easily create custom colors in Canva by clicking on the “Custom Colors” option in the color picker menu.

PRO TIP: If you are using the Canva design platform, beware that there is no color dropper tool. This means that if you want to match a color from an image, you will need to use the eye drop tool to get the hex code for that color.

Additionally, while there is no color dropper tool in Canva, there is a handy “eyedropper” tool that allows you to quickly copy the fill color of any element in your design. To use it, simply click on the element whose color you want to copy and then click on the “eyedropper” icon in the toolbar. The fill color of the element will be applied to your selected object.

So while there is no color dropper tool in Canva, there are still plenty of ways to get the exact colors you need for your designs. And with the eyedropper tool, you can even save yourself some time!
