Is There a Gradient Brush in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 12:44 pm

There is no gradient brush in Photoshop, but there are a number of ways to create the effect of a gradient brush. One way is to use the Gradient tool (G), which can be used to create a gradient fill or a gradient mask. Another way is to use the Brush tool (B) with the Linear Gradient or Radial Gradient options selected in the options bar.

The Gradient tool is the simplest way to create a gradient brush effect. Just select the Gradient tool and drag out a gradient in the image. The default gradient is a black to white linear gradient, but you can change the colors and type of gradient in the options bar.
