Is There a Grid in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 7:47 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool – but what does that mean? In short, it means that Figma helps you create vector graphics and wireframes for your web, mobile, and product designs.

But what is a vector graphic? A vector graphic is a graphic that is made up of points, lines, and curves.

These points are then connected to form shapes and illustrations.

So, what does it mean to “wireframe” a design? A wireframe is a low-fidelity representation of a design.

It’s basically a sketch of what your design will look like.

PRO TIP: There is no grid in Figma. This can be confusing for users who are accustomed to working with grids in other design tools. If you’re not careful, your designs can end up looking messy and misaligned.

Now that we know what Figma is and does, let’s talk about the grid. Is there a grid in Figma? The answer is yes – but it’s not always visible.

By default, the grid is turned off. To turn on the grid, go to View > Grid > Show Grid.

The grid in Figma is made up of horizontal and vertical lines. These lines help you align your elements on the canvas.

The grid also has settings that you can adjust to better suit your needs. To access these settings, go to Preferences > Units & Grids.

So, there you have it! Yes, there is a grid in Figma – but it’s not always visible. You can turn it on by going to View > Grid > Show Grid. You can also adjust the settings by going to Preferences > Units & Grids.
