Is Wix Cheaper Than Shopify?

It’s a common question, and one that doesn’t have a straightforward answer.

On the one hand, Wix is a website builder that offers a free plan and Shopify is a paid ecommerce platform. So, in terms of upfront costs, Wix is definitely the cheaper option.

PRO TIP: If you are considering using Wix to create an online store, be aware that it may be more expensive than using Shopify. While Wix offers a free plan, it is very limited in terms of features and functionality. To use all the features and tools available, you will need to upgrade to one of their paid plans. Shopify, on the other hand, has a 14-day free trial and its Basic plan starts at $29 per month.

However, when you compare the two platforms in terms of features and functionality, Shopify comes out ahead. It offers a more comprehensive set of tools for building and managing an online store. Plus, it has a number of features that are specifically designed for ecommerce businesses, such as built-in payment processing and shipping integrations.

In terms of long-term costs, it’s important to consider things like transaction fees, which can eat into your profits. Shopify doesn’t charge any transaction fees on its basic plan (although you will still have to pay credit card processing fees), whereas Wix charges a 3% fee on all transactions.

So, when it comes to pricing, it really depends on what you’re looking for in a website builder. If you’re just starting out and on a tight budget, then Wix may be the better option. But if you’re looking for a more robust platform with advanced features, then Shopify is worth the investment.
