What Are Collection Pages Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:11 am

Collection pages are a grid of images that link to individual pages or posts. They’re a great way to showcase products, projects, and gallery pages on your site. Adding and configuring a collection page is easy with Squarespace.

There are two types of collection pages: Standard and Gallery. Standard collection pages display images in squares or rectangles, while Gallery collection pages display images in a slideshow. To add a collection page:

1. In the Home Menu, click Pages.

2. Click the + icon, then click Collection Page.

3. Select Standard or Gallery from the Page Type menu.

4.

Choose a page layout from the Layout menu.

5. Click Add Page.

When you add a collection page, you’ll see placeholder images that you can replace with your own. To add images to your collection page:

1. Hover over the collection page and click Edit. Hover over an image placeholder and click Replace Image. Select an image from your computer or drag and drop it into the window.

5. Click Save & Exit.

You can also add text to your collection page by hovering over an image placeholder and clicking Add Text.

To change the order of the images on your collection page, hover over an image and click Reorder.

You can also enable social sharing for your collection page by hovering over an image and clicking Share.

PRO TIP: Collection Pages are a feature in Squarespace that allows you to group together related items from your site. While this can be a useful way to organize your content, it’s important to be aware that collection pages can affect your site’s performance.

Collection pages can slow down your site if there are too many items on the page, or if the page is too complex. Additionally, search engines may have difficulty indexing collection pages, which can impact your site’s SEO.
