AWS regions are the logical foundation of AWS. You can create a new region by launching an Amazon EC2 instance in the desired geographic location.
There are currently four regions available: us-east-1, us-west-1, europe-west1, and europe-east1.

To create a new region, launch an Amazon EC2 instance with the desired region name and key pair. After your instance is up and running, you can access the console, and under the Regions tab, select the region you created, and then choose Actions > Create Region.
You can also use the AWS Region Manager tool to manage your regions. To launch the Region Manager, open the AWS Management Console, and under the Cloud Services heading, select EC2.
Under the Regions heading, select your desired region. You can then use the Region Manager to create and manage your regions.

You can also use the Region Manager to manage your instances. To launch the Region Manager, open the AWS Management Console, and under the EC2 heading, select Regions.
Under the Instances heading, select the instance you want to manage. You can then use the Region Manager to modify instance settings, add or remove instances from a region, or terminate an instance.

You can also use the Region Manager to manage your traffic.
Under the Traffic heading, select the traffic you want to manage. You can then use the Region Manager to modify traffic settings, add or remove traffic sources from a region, or terminate a traffic source.

You can also use the Region Manager to manage your AWS resources.
Under the Resources heading, select the resources you want to manage. You can then use the Region Manager to create or delete resources, add or remove resources from a region, or terminate a resource.
When you create a new region, the Region Manager creates an availability zone for you. You can use the Region Manager to create or delete sub-regions, and to configure traffic routing for your region.
