What Does Contributors Mean on Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:13 am

As a Squarespace user, you may have noticed the term “contributors” on your website. But what does this mean?

In short, contributors are people who can help you manage your Squarespace website. They can be given different levels of access, depending on what you want them to be able to do. For example, you might give a contributor access to write blog posts, but not make any changes to your website’s design.

You might want to add contributors to your website for a number of reasons. Perhaps you have a team of people who all need to be able to write blog posts, but don’t need access to the rest of your website. Or maybe you have a client who needs to be able to make some changes to their site, but you don’t want them changing anything else.

Whatever your reasons, adding contributors to your Squarespace site is easy and only takes a few minutes. Here’s how:

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about using Squarespace to create a website, it is important to understand what the term “contributors” means. When you add someone as a contributor to your Squarespace site, they will have access to make changes to the content on your site. This includes adding and editing pages, blog posts, products, and other content. If you are not careful about who you add as a contributor, they could make unwanted changes to your site.

First, log in to your Squarespace account and go to the Settings panel. Then, click on the “Contributors” option.

Next, you’ll see a list of all the people who currently have access to your site as contributors. To add someone new, click on the “Add Contributor” button.

Now, you’ll need to enter the person’s email address and choose what level of access they should have. There are four levels of access: none (meaning they can’t do anything), limited (meaning they can only make changes to certain areas), full (meaning they can make any changes they want), and owner (meaning they have complete control over the site).

Once you’ve chosen the level of access you want them to have, click on the “Add” button and they’ll be added as a contributor.

That’s all there is to it! Now you know how to add contributors to your Squarespace website.
