Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:10 am

If you’ve ever tried to withdraw money from your UpWork account, you may have come across the term “payment not verified.” This can be confusing and frustrating, especially if you’re not sure what it means or how to fix it.

In short, payment not verified means that the payment method you’re using to withdraw funds from UpWork has not been verified by our system. This can happen for a number of reasons, but the most common is that the payment method is new or hasn’t been used in a while.

If your payment method is not verified, don’t worry! There are a few things you can do to fix it.

First, try refreshing your browser or clearing your cookies. This will often solve the problem.

PRO TIP: If you see the “Payment not verified” message on Upwork, it means that the client has not yet completed the verification process for their payment method. This is required for all clients before they can hire freelancers on Upwork. To complete verification, the client will need to provide a valid credit or debit card, or connect their PayPal account.

If that doesn’t work, try verifying your payment method again. To do this, go to the Settings tab in your UpWork account and click on the “Billing” sub-tab. From there, find the payment method you’re trying to use and click on the “Verify” button.

Once you’ve verified your payment method, you should be able to withdraw funds from your account without any problems. If you have any further questions or issues, feel free to contact our support team for help.
