What Does Swap With Do in Figma?

When you’re working on a design in Figma, there are times when you want to move a layer or object around on the canvas. Maybe you want to try out a different layout, or position an object more precisely. Whatever the reason, Figma makes it easy to move layers around with the Swap With command.

To use Swap With, first select the layer or object that you want to move. Then, hover your cursor over the layer or object that you want to swap with.

A small icon will appear next to your cursor. Click on this icon, and the two layers will swap places.

Swap With is a quick and easy way to rearrange your design. It’s especially useful when you’re working with a lot of objects, or when you’re trying out different layouts. Give it a try next time you’re stuck on a design!

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, “swap with” is a function that allows you to quickly swap the position of two layers. However, if you use this function on two layers that are not the same size, it can cause problems with your design. Make sure that you know the size of the layers before using this function.
