What DPI Is Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 9:04 pm

DPI is an important measure when it comes to printing images and graphics. The term stands for “dots per inch” and refers to the number of individual dots of ink that can be printed in a single inch. The higher the DPI, the more detail and clarity you’ll see in the printed image.

For most home and office printers, a DPI of 300 is more than sufficient. However, if you’re looking to print photos or high-resolution graphics, you’ll want to use a printer with a DPI of 600 or more.

Professional printers used by graphic designers and photographers can have a DPI of 1200 or higher.

When it comes to digital images, DPI isn’t really relevant. That’s because there are no physical dots of ink being used. Instead, the image is displayed on a screen using pixels. The number of pixels per inch (PPI) will determine how sharp and clear the image looks on that particular screen.

PRO TIP: What DPI is Canva?

DPI, or dots per inch, is a measure of the resolution of your image. The higher the DPI, the more detail your image will have. However, too high of a DPI can make your image appear blurry.

Canva uses a default DPI of 96, which is perfect for most uses. However, if you need to print your image or use it at a very large size, you may want to increase the DPI. To do this, click on the “Download” button and select “PDF – High Resolution.”

You’ll often see the terms DPI and PPI used interchangeably, but they are two different measures. DPI refers to printed images while PPI refers to digital images displayed on screens.
