What Format Are Canva Files?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 7:15 pm

Canva files are usually saved in one of two formats: JPEG or PNG. JPEG files are best suited for images with lots of detail, while PNG files are best suited for images with fewer colors.

When you create a new design in Canva, you have the option to save it as a JPEG or PNG file. If you’re not sure which format to choose, you can always save your design as both a JPEG and a PNG file.

PRO TIP: Canva files are often saved in .png or .jpg format, which are both common image file formats. However, Canva also offers a wide range of other file formats that can be used for different purposes. For example, the .pdf format is commonly used for printing, while the .svg format is ideal for cutting out shapes or logos.

JPEG files are best suited for images with lots of detail, like photos. They’re also smaller in size, which means they’ll load faster when people view your designs online.

PNG files are best suited for images with fewer colors, like illustrations. They’re also larger in size, which means they’ll take longer to load.

If you’re not sure which format to choose, you can always save your design as both a JPEG and a PNG file. That way, you can use the JPEG version for online use and the PNG version for printing.
