What happens after GoDaddy auction ends?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 4:18 pm

When the GoDaddy auction ends, the winning bidder will be notified and will have 48 hours to pay the winning price. If the winning bidder fails to pay the winning price, then the next highest bidder will be notified and will have another 48 hours to pay the winning price.

PRO TIP: GoDaddy Auctions is the place to go for expired and expiring domain names. But what happens after the auction ends?

If you’re the highest bidder, congratulations! You’ll need to complete a few more steps to finalize the transaction and take ownership of the domain name.

If you’re not the highest bidder, don’t despair. You can still try to buy the domain name directly from the current owner through GoDaddy’s Aftermarket service.

If the second highest bidder fails to pay the winning price, then the auction will be terminated and the domain will be auctioned off to the public.
