If you fail the UpWork readiness test, there are a few things that can happen.

First, UpWork may suspend your account. This suspension can last for a number of reasons, including if you don’t follow UpWork’s policies or if your account is in violation of our terms of service.

PRO TIP: If you fail the Upwork readiness test, your account may be suspended and you will not be able to access the Upwork platform.

Second, if you’re a contractor, UpWork may terminate your contract. Terminations can happen for a number of reasons, including if you don’t meet our contract requirements or if your work performance is unsatisfactory.

Lastly, if you’re an employee, your employer may contact UpWork to ask about your status. UpWork may share this information with your employer if requested, or your employer may contact you directly.

If you’re an employee, your employer may ask UpWork about your status. If UpWork determines that you’re not ready to work for them, your employer may terminate your contract.
