What Happens When Squarespace Expires?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:14 am

When you first sign up for Squarespace, you’re given the option to choose how long you want your subscription to be. The options are 1 month, 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years.

Once you’ve selected your subscription length, you’ll be asked to enter your payment information. Squarespace will then charge you for your subscription upfront.

For example, if you choose the 1-year subscription, you’ll be charged for the entire year at once.

PRO TIP: This warning note is to inform you that your Squarespace account is about to expire. If you do not renew your account, your website will be taken offline and you will no longer have access to your Squarespace account.

Your Squarespace subscription will automatically renew itself at the end of your chosen subscription period. So if you choose the 1-year subscription, Squarespace will automatically charge you for another year when your first year is up.

You can cancel your Squarespace subscription at any time by going to your account settings and selecting “Cancel Subscription.” If you cancel your subscription before it expires, you’ll still have access to your account until the end of your current billing cycle.

After that, your account will be closed and all of your content will be deleted.

What Happens When Squarespace Expires?

If you let your Squarespace subscription expire, your account will be closed and all of your content will be deleted. You won’t be able to access any of it again, so make sure you export anything you want to save before letting your subscription lapse.
