Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 9:10 pm

When you refund a client on UpWork, they are immediately notified and the funds are released back to them. The client will no longer have access to your services and will not be able to leave a review.

If you have already completed work for the client, you will need to cancel the contract and refund them through that process.

PRO TIP: If you refund a client on Upwork, your account will be temporarily suspended and you will not be able to access your account or withdraw any funds.

It’s important to remember that when you refund a client, they are no longer your client. This means that if they come back to you in the future, you will need to start the contracting process all over again. Keep this in mind when deciding whether or not to refund a client.
