What is 1920×1080 in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 7:41 pm

1920×1080 is the native resolution of most monitors in use today. Photoshop uses this resolution by default when opening a file that was created in this resolution.

When you open a file that was created in a different resolution, Photoshop may use that resolution or it may use the native resolution of the monitor on which the file is being viewed. If you need to change the resolution of a file that was created in Photoshop, you can do so by selecting the file in the file menu and choosing the resolution you want to use.

PRO TIP: This warning note is to remind you that 1920×1080 is the dimensions of a full HD video. If you are trying to create a graphic or photo in Photoshop at this size, it will be very pixelated and low quality. Try working at a smaller size and then scaling up to 1920×1080 when you are finished for the best results.
