Creating a Development Store is simple and only takes a few minutes. To create a Development Store, you will need to create a new Shopify account and then select the “Development Store” option when creating your store.
You will also need to select a unique subdomain for your development store. For example, if your live site is example.com, you might use dev.example.com for your development store.
Once your development store is created, you can begin adding new features or themes to it. To add a new feature or theme, you will need to login to your development store and go to the “Add Features” section. From here, you can select the “Add Feature” or “Add Theme” buttons to add the new feature or theme to your development store.
Once you have added the new feature or theme to your development store, you can begin testing it on your live site. To do this, you will need to login to your development store and go to the “Settings” page.
On this page, you will need to scroll down to the “Domain” section and click on the “Change Domain” button. From here, you can enter the URL of your live site and click on the “Save” button.
After saving your changes, you will be able to access your development store from your live site. To do this, you will need to go to the URL of your live site and add /dev/ at the end of it.com, you would go to example.com/dev/ to access your development store.

If you’re not careful, it’s easy to accidentally publish changes to your development store that you didn’t mean to make. For this reason, we recommend only using development stores for testing purposes, and never for selling products.
