What Is a WiX Extension?

An extension is a WiX library that contains code to execute at various points during installation. An extension can be used to add features to an installer, modify dialogs, or add custom actions.

For example, the WiX Util Extension contains code to schedule a restart after installation.

To use an extension, you first need to reference it in the element. Then, you can use the classes and methods exposed by the extension.
