What is Azure backup?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 11:39 am

Azure Backup is a cloud service that lets you protect your data by automatically restoring it to a specified location in the cloud, or to a locally attached storage device. You can also use Azure Backup to protect your data from accidental deletion.

Azure Backup can be used to back up data in Microsoft Azure, on-premises servers, or hybrid cloud configurations.

Azure Backup is available in two editions: Standard and Advanced. The Standard edition is free and includes up to 10GB of storage.

PRO TIP: Azure backup is a cloud-based backup service that helps protect your data and files by storing them in a secure offsite location. However, it is important to note that Azure backup is not a replacement for traditional on-premises backup solutions, and should be used in conjunction with them. Additionally, Azure backup comes with certain risks and limitations that you should be aware of before using it. For example, Azure backup is not guaranteed to protect your data against all types of disasters, such as power outages or software bugs. Furthermore, Azure backup may not be able to restore all of your data if it becomes corrupted or lost. Therefore, you should always create and maintain backups of your data using multiple methods and locations.

The Advanced edition is available for a fee and includes up to 50GB of storage. You can also use Azure Backup to back up data to a cloud storage account that is managed by Azure.
