What is Azure VM size?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 11:52 am

Azure VM size is measured in bytes. Azure provides a few different size options when creating a new VM. The most popular option is Standard_A1. This size is currently available in the East US region. Standard_A1 is 1GB and provides a reasonable amount of storage for a basic level of compute. If you need more storage, you can choose the Standard_A2 size which is 2GB. If you need even more storage, you can choose the Standard_A3 size which is 4GB. The Azure VM size is not the same as the size of the virtual disk. The virtual disk size is the size of the file that contains the virtual machine’s data. Azure also provides a Premium_A1 size which is 1TB. Premium_A1 provides a lot of storage for data storage and compute needs. You can also choose a Premium_A2 size which is 2TB. Premium_A2 is also currently available in the East US region. Premium_A2 provides even more storage for data storage and compute needs. The final size option is the Premium_A3 size which is 4TB. Premium_A3 is currently not available in the East US region. Premium_A3 provides a lot of storage for data storage and compute needs. All sizes of Azure VMs come with a free tier of storage that is equal to the size of the virtual disk. The free tier of storage is provided as part of the Azure pricing plan. The size of the free tier is based on the size of the Standard_A1 size. The free tier is not based on the size of the virtual disk.

PRO TIP: Azure VM size refers to the amount of compute, storage, and memory resources that are allocated to a virtual machine. The size of a virtual machine has a direct effect on its cost, so it is important to select the right size for your workloads.

The size of the free tier is based on the size of the Standard_A1 size. You can also choose to create a custom size Azure VM. You can create a custom size Azure VM by choosing the Custom Size option when creating a new VM. The Custom Size option allows you to choose a size that is not available in the Standard_A1, Standard_A2, or Premium_A1 sizes. The Custom Size option is not available in the East US region. The size of the Custom Size Azure VM is not based on the size of the virtual disk. The conclusion is that the Azure VM size is measured in bytes and the Standard_A1, Standard_A2, and Premium_A1 sizes are available in the East US region.
