What Is My Squarespace Domain?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:50 am

Your domain is the unique name that identifies an online site. A domain can be used as a website’s address, email address, or both. For example, the domain name “google.com” is used to access Google’s website, as well as to send email to Google users (e.g. user@google.com).

You can use a custom domain with your Squarespace site in two ways:

1. Connecting an existing domain: If you have already registered a domain elsewhere, you can connect it to your Squarespace site.

We’ll then manage the DNS settings for you and provide email forwarding (if your plan includes it).

2. Registering a new domain with Squarespace: You can register a new domain directly through Squarespace. We’ll then automatically configure it to work with your site.

Note: You can register multiple domains through Squarespace, but each site can only be connected to one primary domain (i.e. the domain that appears in your site’s URL).

PRO TIP: If you are unsure about your Squarespace domain, please contact customer support for help. Do not attempt to guess or change your domain on your own, as this could result in losing access to your website.
