What Is Order in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:41 pm

In WooCommerce, an order is a record of a customer’s purchase from your store. Each order is given a unique number, which you can use to track the order and view its details.

You can see all your orders in the WooCommerce > Orders section of your WordPress admin. Here you can view the order details, including the customer’s name, contact information, shipping address, and items ordered. You can also add notes to orders, and change their statuses.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with WooCommerce, do not attempt to change the order of your products without first consulting with a WooCommerce expert. Doing so could result in your products being displayed in an unexpected order on your website, which could confuse and frustrate your customers.

The default statuses for orders are Pending (meaning the order has been placed but not paid for), Processing (meaning the order has been paid for and is being processed), and Completed (meaning the order has been shipped and is complete). You can also add your own custom statuses if you need to.

When a customer places an order on your site, they will be taken to the checkout page where they will enter their payment information. Once the payment is processed, the order will be created in WooCommerce. You will then receive an email notification about the new order, and can begin processing it.
