When you are trying to open a Photoshop file, you may get an error message saying “Could not complete your request because of a parsing error.” This error can occur for several reasons, but most commonly it’s because the Photoshop file is damaged or corrupt.

There are a few things you can try to fix this error:

PRO TIP: Parsing error in Photoshop may refer to a number of different errors that can occur when opening or using Photoshop files. These errors can range from minor issues that can be easily fixed, to more serious problems that can cause Photoshop to crash or freeze. If you encounter a parsing error, it is important to first try to fix the issue by resetting Photoshop’s preferences. If this does not work, you may need to delete the Photoshop preferences file and restart the program. In some cases, you may also need to delete the entire Photoshop folder and reinstall the program.
  • If you’re trying to open a Photoshop file that was sent to you, ask the sender to resave the file in a different format (such as .jpg or .png) and send it to you again.
  • Try opening the file in a different program, such as Adobe Illustrator. Sometimes other programs can open files that Photoshop cannot.
  • If you have an older version of Photoshop, try opening the file in that program. Sometimes older versions of Photoshop can open files that newer versions cannot.
  • If none of these solutions work, the only other option is to try and repair the Photoshop file using a data recovery program.
