What Is Preserve Scroll Position Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:42 pm

When you work on a design in Figma, you often have to scroll to see different areas of the canvas. This can be a bit of a pain, especially if you’re constantly scrolling up and down to see different parts of the design.

Thankfully, there’s a setting in Figma that allows you to preserve your scroll position. This means that when you scroll up or down, the canvas will stay in the same position.

To turn on preserve scroll position, go to your preferences (File > Preferences) and under the General tab, check the box next to “Preserve Scroll Position”. Now when you scroll, your canvas will stay put!

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, Preserve Scroll Position may not be the best option for you. While it can be a helpful tool for some users, it can also cause problems for others. If you are not comfortable with using Figma or are not sure how to use it, we recommend that you do not use Preserve Scroll Position.

This setting is especially useful when you’re working on large designs or when you need to reference something off-canvas. With preserve scroll position turned on, you can easily scroll between different areas of the design without losing your place.

The Preserve Scroll Position setting in Figma allows users to keep the same scrolling position when switching between different areas in a design. This can be turned on in the Preferences menu under the General tab.
